It only took forever, but I finally finished my bedroom! *rejoicing* So enough talking and more pictures! (If you would like to refresh your memory of the delightful 'before' post, check it here!)

DIY Anthropologie Bedding...From T-Shirts!

So I pretty much would furnish my entire house with Anthropologie stuff if I had enough room and enough money. Seeing as I don't really have either of those, though, I have to resort to knocking it off myself. I have drooled over this bedspread for the better part of a year, but could never bring myself to spending $300+ on it.

I think what I liked most about it was that it was made out of jersey knit, which is unbelievably comfortable, especially for bedding. Which got me to thinkin'...'What else is made from jersey knit that you can find a bunch of probably at a thrift store???'

T SHIRTS.

So I picked up about 50 extra huge man t shirts for $30, and a plain white king-sized bespread that I already had laying about, chopped them up, and ended up with my own version...

IT IS SO SOFT. I was actually really pleased with how it came out! I am working on some matching shams, but I haven't got around to finishing them yet!

Delightful DIY Decoupaged Dresser!

I NEVER spell 'decoupage' correctly the first time. Everrrr.

Anyway.

So I've recently seen a swarm of decoupaged furniture swirling about the interwebs, and have been itching to try it out. The possibilities are seriously limitless, and only confined to what you can get your hands on!

So this is what I started with...

And here is what I ended up with...

A brief breakdown...

1. Moved everything outside. (Hard when you have no muscle like me)

2. Gave everything a good sanding.

3. Spray-primed everything, then did 2-3 layers of satin white paint.

4. Sanded. Again.

5. Cut fabric to fit the drawer fronts, and hit those with 7-8 layers of Hard Finish ModPodge, sanding every two layers with 400 grit (super fine) sand paper.

6. Coated with some acrylic sealer.

7. Painted the hardware and DONE.

It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be! The hardest was waiting for everything to dry, I think. And getting the fabric to fit right. Oh dear. That was a chore. 

This can be used with fabric or paper, whichever you wish!

So we ran out of the white door paint that I was going to use to paint my closet doors. Well, one thing about me is that I don't cope well making up my mind to do something, and then having to put it on hold. It doesn't work well, because I'm impatient. Sooo, not wanting to wait and go to the store, I pulled out some buttery-yellow paint we had in the garage and went to work on my closet. I've gotta say, I really ended up loving how it turned out :)

A before...

I really think it complements the blue walls. (Oh, did I mention I painted!?) AND I found some cute initial door knobs at Hooby Looby for half off! Yay! (J and M are my initials; this would be a cute idea for a couples' closet, also, if you just used both of your first initials)

Spackle, Oh My!

So I've been a busy bee recently! Okay, not really, but I have accomplished...more..than...what I had...previously...accomplished? Liikkeeee....SPACKLE! Goodness you never know how many holes you have until you have to spackle them! EeK!?

I also had to tear down the stuff on my closet doors. I wish I had a before picture, but the doors were completely covered with pictures and random papers from my recent past. Some of which I had GLUED on. Why? Not sure. But it was not fun trying to get the bits of glue off, no sir.

Also, if you notice, there is a LOT of spackle above and around the closet. Well, that is because Jordan had put up some 'SUPER EASY TO REMOVE AND REUSE' wall decals. If by 'easy to remove' they actually meant, 'easy to remove the SHEETROCK' then yes, that would be accurate. -.-

I've been giving my room a drastic and MUCH needed makeover recently. By 'much needed' I mean 'I've had the same exact room since I was 9'

Which, you know, isn't THAT bad, right? WRONG. I would like to direct you to Exhibits A, B, & C:

As you can see, there is a whole lot of a whole lot going on, with not much cohesive-ness. And actually, I kinda like the everywhere, here, and there feel, because, frankly, that describes my life. But it got to the point where I needed to do some SERIOUS ah mean SERI-USS de-junkification and I figured it would be a good time to update my theme. 

So, my working color scheme is yellow, blue, white, and green. With silver as the metallic. We'll see how it goes!
